Last year alone, 32,000 tons of food went to landfill in NSW, which amounts to 63.8 million meals wasted each year. If you’re passionate about reducing food waste and want to make a real impact in our community, we’d love for you to join our team of dedicated FoodAid volunteers. Together, we can help divert food from landfills and get it to those in need.

FoodAid.org.au has set times to pickup from the docks of major food distributors in the Southern Highlands. Volunteers use their own vehicles to pick up various dry goods and fresh produce items from vendors that are donating. Volunteers then drop off to our holding facilities in Moss Vale.

THURSDAY 730AM - 1PM
FoodAid.org.au picks up from FoodBank in Glendenning at 9am then SecondBite in Penrith at 10.30am.
We provide a van to make this run. Petrol costs are covered. Total round trip time from Moss Vale is 5 hours.
We have a buddy system where there is a driver and helper. There are always 2 people that do this run

FRIDAY 730AM - 1PM
We hold our dry goods and fresh produce at 1 facility for a 1st round sorting and then we move our groceries and fresh produce to our distribution site. We need volunteers for a variety of jobs that include driving a van, packing, sorting and distributing fresh vegetables and groceries at both our sorting and distribution hall.

FoodAid.org.au has 2 facilities. We have a small sorting facility and a distribution site located closely together in Moss Vale. Various food items need to be loaded from 1 site and off loaded to another site.
